Supervisor

The township supervisor serves as chief executive officer of the township. The supervisor’s duties and responsibilities include serving as chairman of the township board of trustees, supervisor of the general assistance program and treasurer of all town funds including general assistance and road and bridge funds.

The supervisor may vote on all matters before the town board. Generally speaking, other chief executive government officers may vote only to break a tie. In this regard the supervisor serves as a trustee and may make or second motions, participate in all legislative discussion and should exercise voting power on all issues before the board.

TROY TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR – LAWRENCE M. RYAN, III – life long resident of Will County with over 30 years in Troy Township. Honored to have been elected a Township Trustee in 2009 and Township Clerk in 2021. Member of the Township Officials of Illinois, St. Jude Parish in Joliet and Laborers’ Local 288. Volunteers at St. Joe’s PONY Baseball and St. Jude school. Larry holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Bradley University and owns an underground construction business. Larry and his wife reside in unincorporated Troy Township and have two sons and a daughter.
